Board matatu route 105 or 135 from Museum Hill or Kencom stage along Waiyaki Way. Matatus are frequent, and the journey takes 25–40 minutes depending on traffic. Fares run KSh 50–80. Peak hour on Waiyaki Way can extend travel time considerably  plan accordingly.

St. Joseph's Uthiru and several private primary schools serve families in the area. The University of Nairobi Kikuyu Campus and St. Paul's University are close by, making Uthiru popular with students and academic staff. Kabete Technical and Vocational College also serves the area for vocational training.

Generally yes. The residential pockets off the main highway are calm and community-oriented. Newer gated developments have perimeter walls, CCTV, and 24-hour guards. As with most growing Nairobi suburbs, security varies by street. The quieter residential roads are more settled, while areas directly along Waiyaki Way see more foot traffic and require normal urban caution.
